Vigdis Hansa Elst started to play the violin at a young age, and later learned to play the piano and sing. She obtained her Master's degree in Composition under the guidance of Wim Henderickx and Luc Vanhove at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. She graduated with her staged concert Bloot, for which she performed as a singer and wrote both the text and the music, in collaboration with Muziektheater Transparant/TRANSLAB. Additionally, she became increasingly involved in improvisation. After her classical composition studies in Antwerp, Vigdis moved to Brussels to immerse herself in improvised music. There, she met musicians Joseph, Manolo, and Gaspard, with whom she now presents her new compositions in a quartet: a poetic dialogue between the vocal and the instrumental, organization and chaos, intimacy and rawness.
